Dear Info,

I'm sorry for the lateness of my reply. I never check the comments on this site. I randomly do for my other site:

http:/www.backpagemovie.com

But, the point is: I haven't figured out how to get Wordpress to notify me of comments...

But to your point, I assume that your submission came from Martin?

He's harmless, though our relationship runs pretty hot and cold. I suspect he's bi-polar and very lonely. I shudder to think that I may have met him in person once and not known it. Oh well, such is cyber-life.

As for his post, I'm a big boy. I can handle a flame war. Can I respond on your site to such a discussion?

Otherwise, would you care for me to send you a screener DVD?

Thanks,

Richard

P.S.I'm not against ad hominem attacks against the director in cinema reviews. My amazon listing is full of them:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A02O4W/

Just try and ponder Phantom Menace, Vampires Suck, Last Air Bender, or Apacolypto without thinking of those directors.

Yesterday I received an unsolicited negative review of BACKPAGE from the individual you mention here. He included a link to both the film's homepage and to the Facebook group you cite. The review was full of ad hominem attacks against the movie's director, Richard Massey. It seemed off; people usually submit reviews of well-known movies they love, not obscure movies they hate. It seemed like an obvious attempt at viral marketing. A Google search of his name and alias brought up this post. Long story short, I've decided not to publish his submission. This entire occurence has been more than a bit surreal.
